Biker killed after ramming into motorcycle on Johor highway

KOTA TINGGI: A motorcyclist died on the spot in an accident involving two motorcycles and a car at KM50.2 of the Senai-Desaru Expressway at 8.15pm on Thursday (May 1).

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the 28-year-old victim had rammed into another motorcycle ridden by a 21-year-old local man.

“The victim tried to overtake the bike but lost control and skidded into the opposite direction of the expressway,’’ he said in a statement.

Supt Yusof said an incoming car driven by a 46-year-old local man did not have time to dodge and hit the bike ridden by the 28-year-old local man.

“The victim suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,’’ he said, adding that the body was sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for post-mortem.

Supt Yusof said the other motorcyclist and the driver escaped unhurt and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
