KUALA LUMPUR: Generali Malaysia, one of the largest general insurers and emerging life insurers in Malaysia, has opened its brand new headquarters, Menara Generali, here with the goal of providing better services to its customers.

Strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur along Jalan Sultan Ismail, the new headquarters will see the unification of its general and life insurance operations under a single roof to enhance its ability to collaborate and improve its operational efficiency.

Generali Insurance Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Fabrice Benard said the new headquarters will provide an ideal workplace for at least 1,000 employees from four of its branch offices nationwide to meet the needs of its more than 9,000 agents and partners – as well as over two million local customers.

Benard described the launch of Menara Generali as a showcase of the insurer’s dedication to improving its services for the public and its ambition to grow its presence in Malaysia.

“The launch of Menara Generali is more than just a new building; it reflects our ambition to grow stronger, move faster and serve better.

“Designed to foster collaboration, innovation and agility, it reflects the best of who we are and who we aim to be in our drive to become a true lifetime partner to Malaysians.

“With this new hub, we will accelerate into the future with our customers at the heart of everything we do,” he said in his speech during the launch of Menara Generali here yesterday.

He added that they have also committed themselves to Malaysia’s green agenda, revealing that the new headquarters is currently undergoing the certification process to obtain green building status.

Generali Asia regional officer Roberto Leonardi said the new headquarters is a testament to the company’s ever-growing, decade-long relationship with the Malaysian people.

“Since we first began operating in Malaysia in 2015, our business has gone from strength to strength, and Malaysia has now become an indispensable part of our contribution to the expanding insurance market in Asia.

“I am looking forward to what more we will achieve in Malaysia as part of our Lifetime Partner commitment to our customers, employees and business partners,” he said in his speech at the event.

Generali Malaysia is part of Generali Group, one of the largest global insurance providers with more than 190 years of heritage since it was founded in Italy in 1831. It now serves customers in over 50 countries.

The group began its insurance operations in Malaysia in 2015, from which it gradually expanded until 2023, when it revealed Generali Malaysia as its newest chapter with an extensive network of branches nationwide.

Italy’s Deputy Enterprises Minister Valentino Valentini said Generali’s new headquarters marked the country’s confidence in Malaysia’s economy.

“Menara Generali is more than just Generali’s dedication to the Malaysian people; it also represents the enduring relationship between our two nations.

“It is a beacon of trust, a hub of talent and symbol of collaboration that we wish to foster with Malaysia and other neighbouring countries in the region,” he said in his speech at the event.

The event was also attended by Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong and Italian Ambassador to Malaysia Massimo Rustico.
