Car crashes into Sungai Petani coffee shop, kills woman


SUNGAI PETANI: A 55-year-old woman was killed after a car crashed into a coffee shop at Sungai Petani on Monday (April 28).

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said that in the 9.30am incident, the victim was having her breakfast when the car suddenly crashed into the shop.

"The car was driven by a driver who was suspected to have suffered a minor stroke at the time of the incident, which caused the driver to lose control of the car," he said in a statement on Monday (April 28).

ACP Wan Azharuddin said the victim was killed on the spot after suffering severe injuries.

The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
