Suspect in Shah Alam beggar murder remanded for seven days


SHAH ALAM: The suspect allegedly involved in the murder of a beggar in a "turf war" has been remanded for seven days.

When contacted, Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim stated that the suspect is currently placed in the observation ward after suffering an epileptic attack.

"Checks showed that he possessed a disabled person card," he said.

A post-mortem on the victim's body confirmed the cause of death as a "stab wound to the chest."

On Thursday (April 24), a 40-year-old beggar was killed in front of a bank at Seksyen 18 here.

The 28-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed the victim during a fight over begging turf.

Checks also revealed that the suspect had prior criminal records.
