Ramli Ngah to be next Penang Governor

GEORGE TOWN: Former Perak Mentri Besar Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib has been confirmed to be the next Penang governor.

The 84-year-old is expected to receive the appointment letter from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in a ceremony at Istana Negara.

Before being appointed Dewan Rakyat Speaker from 2004 to 2008, Ramli was the Deputy Transport Minister from 2000 to 2004.

He had also served as Pasir Salak MP while in office as Kampung Gajah state assemblyman in Perak.
