KOTA KINABALU: Eligible students, especially those from Sabah, are invited to apply for education sponsorships including scholarships, bursaries and study loans from Yayasan Sabah for the 2025 academic session.
Yayasan Sabah director Datuk Seri Gulamhaidar Khan Bahadar said the initiative is to offer financial support to Sabahan students pursuing studies at certificate, diploma, bachelor's, master's and doctorate levels.
“This sponsorship initiative aims to open up more educational opportunities for talented Sabahans.
"We prioritise students from Sabah as we are committed to seeing more of them succeed academically and professionally,” he said in a statement on Monday (April 21).
The sponsorships available include the Sabah State Excellence Scholarship (BCNS) for top SPM 2024 students, as well as scholarships for higher education in both public and private institutions across various fields such as Agriculture, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Entrepreneurship, Dentistry, and Islamic Studies.
There are also overseas scholarships for studies in countries like Indonesia, Egypt and Russia.
Gulamhaidar also noted that study loans are available for students who do not qualify for scholarships or bursaries.
He encouraged eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to further their studies.
“Education is the key to future success, and this programme reflects Yayasan Sabah Group’s commitment to supporting the higher education needs of Sabahan youth.
“It not only eases the financial burden on parents but also enables students to continue their studies without obstacles,” he added.
He hoped that these initiatives would help more Sabahan students realise their dreams and contribute to the state’s development.
Interested applicants can apply online via the Sabah Education Sponsorship Portal (PTPS) at https://ptps.sabah.gov.my.
The application deadline is June 30. Completed forms must be submitted to the Education Development Division, Yayasan Sabah Group, Level 5, Menara Tun Mustapha, Teluk Likas, Kota Kinabalu.
