Teacher arrested in Johor Baru for alleged sexual assault


JOHOR BARU: A 33-year-old man, believed to be a teacher at a school in the city centre, has been arrested to assist in a sexual assault investigation.

Johor Baru South deputy OCPD Supt Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffei stated that police received three reports from local victims on April 16.

"The suspect, a 33-year-old local man, was arrested on Monday (April 21).

"He has been remanded for six days until April 27. Investigation is still ongoing," he said in a statement on Tuesday (April 22).

The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
