KL Tower closed for maintenance work


PETALING JAYA: The KL Tower will be temporarily closed from Thursday (April 17) for the new management to carry out maintenance works.

The Communication Ministry said this was done for the convenience of visitors and to give space to the new management to carry out the works.

"The Madani government, through the Communication Ministry stressed that the Kuala Kumpur Tower is owned by the government from April 1 and its operations, management and maintenance has been taken over by LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd (LSHSM).

"The presence of Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd (MKLSB) on the KL Tower area after March 31 is illegal," said the ministry in a statement on Wednesday (April 16).

"As such, the Federal Land Commissioner has issued two notices on April 3 and 9 to MKLSB to vacate the premises.

It said any operation and business transaction which is still being carried out by MKLSB todate is without the permission of the government.

The Communication Ministry said the new date for the reopening of KL Tower will be announced through the media.
