PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional's Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir is an outstanding candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"To the voters of Ayer Kuning, Barisan has put forward a candidate of integrity, experience and dedication. Mohamad Yusri is ready to serve, lead and deliver real progress for Ayer Kuning. Please vote for candidate no. 1, Mohamad Yusri from Barisan," he said in a Facebook post.

Dr Wee, who supported the Barisan candidate at Arena TN50 in Tapah on Saturday, said the area was transformed into a powerful wave of blue.

"Supporters came in full force to march alongside Mohamad Yusri as he made his way to the nomination centre.

Dr Wee also campaigned with Mohamad Yusri at Tapah Road Timur and Tapah Road Utara district voting centres.

The Ayer Kuning seat faces a three-cornered fight between Mohamad Yusri, Abd Muhaimin Malek of Perikatan, and PSM secretary-general KS Bawani.

Polling is set for April 26, while early voting is on April 22.

The by-election was called after its incumbent, Ishsam Shahruddin, 58, of Barisan, passed away on 22 February.
