Putra Heights inferno: MBI, partners contribute RM2mil aid to victims


KUALA LUMPUR: The Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) Group and its strategic partners have contributed RM2mil in immediate aid for the victims of Putra Heights gas pipeline inferno.

MBI group chief executive officer Datuk Saipolyazan M Yusop said the contribution was handed over to Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari during MBI’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House in Shah Alam on Thursday (April 10).

The contribution, channelled through Tabung Selangor Prihatin, would address urgent needs and assist families affected by the incident, particularly those who lost their homes.

"This is more than just financial aid, it is a message of unity. MBI stands firmly in solidarity with the victims of the Putra Heights tragedy," he said in a statement on Friday (April 11).

MBI’s strategic partners who have pledged their support include Oriental Interest Bhd (Myra Garden), Astrum Shah Alam Sdn Bhd, Murni Gemilang Sdn Bhd, MGB Bhd, Jejak Rimbun Sdn Bhd, Trans Loyal Development Sdn Bhd, Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd, Impeccable Vintage Properties, Mirago Resources Sdn Bhd, Sg. Rambai Holdings Sdn Bhd, Midas Dragon Sdn Bhd, East Rock Sdn Bhd and Laurelcap Sdn Bhd.

To enhance recovery efforts, he also encouraged the public to contribute to Tabung Selangor Prihatin through CIMB account number 8604747531 under the name Bendahari Negeri Selangor, with reference note, Putra Heights.

The gas pipeline fire, which occurred at 8.10am on April 1, saw flames shoot 30 metres high with temperatures reaching 1,000 degrees Celsius, taking nearly eight hours to be completely extinguished.- Bernama
