Selangor awaiting Federal nod to release Putra Heights blast report

SHAH ALAM: Selangor is ready to release the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion report, pending the Federal Government's green light, says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Mentri Besar said the state will wait until the final quarter of the year before considering whether to disclose the report under its own authority.

He also said Selangor would consult its legal adviser on whether portions of the report falling within the state’s jurisdiction could be made public.

“If there is no decision, I will discuss with our legal adviser whether we can open it to the public as long as it is within our jurisdiction, he said during a press conference at a hotel here on Monday (Aug 17)

Amirudin added that the state would decide on its next course of action after National Day on Aug 31.

The explosion on April 1, 2025, destroyed 87 houses and damaged 148 properties, affecting more than 1,250 people.
