KUALA LUMPUR: Pantai Irama in Bachok, Kelantan, and the Picca Convention Centre @Arena Butterworth in Penang are set to come alive with thousands of visitors Saturday (April 12) for the 2025 Madani Aidilfitri celebration with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In Kelantan, the celebration, scheduled to take place from 9am to 2pm, promises a vibrant lineup of activities, including the serving of traditional dishes, cultural performances, and casual meet-and-greet sessions with national leaders.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of mouth-watering local delicacies such as nasi Kak Wok, nasi tumpang, kambing Gglek, satay, lemang, ketupat, air batu campur (ABC), traditional Kelantanese kuih, and a selection of iconic east coast dishes.
Themed "Ihsan Menyentuh Jiwa, Toleransi Menyatu Negara", the celebration will be enlivened by special performances from local artists and dikir barat icons including Irfan Mutiara Biru, Adik Ryan and Sirat Maharaja, bringing the rich sounds and rhythm of Kelantan’s cultural heritage to life.
To ease travel for attendees, a free shuttle van service will operate from two main pick-up points: the National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen’s Day site and the Kelantan Public Library Bachok branch, transporting guests to the KFC Bachok parking lot a short walk from the main event area.
Both Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof are also expected to attend the Kelantan celebration, alongside Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
Meanwhile, the celebration in Penang is scheduled from 2.30pm until 5 pm, with Anwar, Human Resources Minister Steven Sim and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow among the dignitaries expected to be present.
The event is jointly organised by the Penang government and the Human Resources Ministry.
Visitors will be treated to an array of local delights including kambing golek, Penang laksa, curry mee, nasi impit with kuah kacang, lemang, ketupat, roti jala, mi sotong, cendol, pasembor and apam balik as well as other signature Penang dishes that showcase the state’s culinary heritage.
Adding to the festive spirit, the event will also feature live performances by renowned artists including Datuk Hattan, Aris Ariwatan and Black Hanifah.
The Madani Aidilfitri celebration serves as a key initiative to highlight the Malaysia Madani agenda, which is grounded in the values of well-being, respect and compassion.
According to the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (Pacu) under the Prime Minister’s Office, the event is more than just a festive gathering but also a platform to unite Malaysians through shared cultural, traditional and community values.
The celebration also aims to strengthen the spirit of togetherness while creating opportunities for direct engagement between the people and national leaders in an atmosphere of warmth and goodwill.
The Madani Aidilfitri 2025 celebration officially kicked off in Melaka on April 5, marking the national-level launch of the event. It is being held in Pahang today (Friday, April 11) before heading to Kelantan and Penang.
Subsequent celebrations will be held in Sarawak on April 19, followed by Perak on April 25, before concluding in Perlis on April 27.
