Two men killed in motorcycle-car collision in Iskandar Puteri


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Two men lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving two motorcycles and a car at the intersection of Jalan Silat Harimau 21 and Jalan Silat Harimau 35 early Sunday morning (April 6).

Iskandar Puteri OCPD ACP M. Kumarasan reported that the crash occurred around 3.45am. Initial investigations revealed that a car traveling straight along the main road collided with a green motorcycle that suddenly entered the junction from the left.

"As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist was flung onto the right lane. At that moment, an orange motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, hit the victim who was lying on the road," he said in a statement.

The first victim died on the spot due to severe head injuries.

The second motorcyclist was rushed to Hospital Sultanah Aminah but was pronounced dead at 1.50pm the same day due to critical injuries to the head and legs.

Both deceased were local men, aged 31 and 26, respectively. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact the Iskandar Puteri Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at 07-510 1322.
