LESS than two years after opening its doors, Concord College International School (Concord) is celebrating its first International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A-Level results, marking a significant milestone in the school’s academic journey.
Concord’s inaugural IGCSE cohort delivered outstanding results, with 52% of grades awarded at A* to A and 85% at A* to C.
At A-Level, the graduating cohort delivered a similarly strong performance, with 43% of all grades awarded at A*, 62% at A* to A, 81% at A* to B, and 91% at A* to C.
More than half of the graduating cohort achieved AAB or better. Together, the results establish Concord’s first academic benchmark and reflect the ambition, commitment and hard work of its students, backed by the dedication of their teachers and families.
Beyond examination results, the outlook for Concord’s Year 13 graduating cohort is equally impressive, with students securing offers from leading universities around the world.
Collectively, the cohort received offers from 45 universities across the US, UK, Ireland, South Korea, China, Australia and the Netherlands, including Imperial College London, University College London and the University of Hong Kong.
The cohort’s top-performing students, earned offers to study at highly prestigious universities including Imperial College London, University of Glasgow, Trinity College Dublin and University of Dundee.
Another top performer also secured offers from several highly regarded universities, together with a full-tuition scholarship offer from Tsinghua University and a fully funded scholarship offer from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
These results provide an early indication of how Concord’s academic model is taking shape in Malaysia, with the school seeking to carry forward the academic rigour and ambition associated with its sister school, Concord College UK.
That educational philosophy extends beyond academics to kindness, broader student development and contribution to college life.
One Concord College UK tradition carried forward in Malaysia is the Frank Bell Prize, awarded annually to selected students who maintain high academic standards, contribute generously to college life and serve as role models for others.
