Jewellery ‘theft’ turns out to be lie


KOTA KINABALU: A woman made up a story of being robbed of her jewellery in her bid to placate her mother after she had sold off some of the valuables to settle a debt.

However, the tale thought up by the 29-year-old woman, who lives in the small town Tandek in northern Kota Marudu district, was found out by the police.
