SHAH ALAM: The preliminary findings of investigations into the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights will be disclosed today.
The findings will be announced by Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, who led the investigation.
“This investigation took into account two perspectives: (the) criminal element of negligence or natural causes and technical failure,” Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said.
“Firstly, to find if there are any elements of criminality or negligence, or (if it was) due to natural causes, the investigation will be carried out by the police.
“Secondly, for the technical investigation at ‘ground zero’, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, which is under the Public Works Department, will begin a technical search at the site,” he told a press conference after chairing a meeting with the Selangor disaster management committee yesterday.
Amirudin said 108 police reports had been lodged on the matter and evaluation of the tragedy will include videos that went viral on social media.
“We are taking into consideration all the video clips, reports and information, and we may be calling all those involved.”
