Putra Heights inferno: About 450 victims still displaced


PETALING JAYA: About 450 victims are still displaced following the gas pipeline explosion and fire at a neighbourhood in Putra Heights.

According to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) portal, 449 are displaced across two temporary relief centres as of 8pm on Wednesday (April 3).

This was 35 compared to Nadma's update at 4pm.

No deaths have been recorded so far.

Earlier, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said 87 houses affected by the gas pipeline explosion and fire in Putra Heights have been deemed unfit for occupation after sustaining severe damage.

On Tuesday (April 1), an inferno raged for over seven hours in Putra Heights on Jalan Putra Harmoni, with residents scrambling to safety as it grew to several storeys and blasted sand and gravel kilometres away.
