FANS of the late Hong Kong superstar Leslie Cheung (pic) continue to honour the Canto-pop icon even 22 years after his passing, China Press reported.

A large number of fans gathered outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central, Hong Kong, on April 1 to lay flowers in tribute.

Cheung tragically fell from the 24th floor of the hotel in 2003.

In fact, fans from different regions began organising commemorative events as early as at the end of last month.

Besides the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong was also covered in a sea of flowers with heartfelt messages expressing deep longing for the star.

In Shenzhen’s Futian district, the Dreams-On Shopping Centre also set up a 40m giant 3D screen displaying some of Cheung’s most iconic looks.

> A 42-year-old man from India was arrested upon landing at Changi Airport, Singapore, after allegedly causing a ruckus while intoxicated on a flight, Oriental Daily reported.

He reportedly grabbed a fellow passenger and forcefully pushed the seat in front of him.

When flight attendants tried to calm him down, he became agitated and was said to have grabbed a male crew member’s hand, threatening to kill him.

The man was charged in court on Tuesday for using criminal force on the crew member.

If convicted, the accused could be fined up to S$1,500 (RM4,965) or up to three months in jail or both.
