TWO stray kittens, believed to have wandered into the compound of a 90-year-old woman, were allegedly beaten to death, China Press reported.
A resident from Puchong, Selangor, said she heard repeated banging noises coming from her neighbour’s house on the night of July 24.
“As I had heard similar sounds over the previous two days, I decided to check what was happening.
“I saw an elderly woman striking something on the ground with a stick before throwing it aside.
“When I took a closer look, I was shocked to find two kittens that looked to be about a month old,” she claimed.
“As I was leaving, I noticed another kitten inside the compound and took it away with me,” she said.
She said that after several confrontations, the neighbour admitted to the act, saying she disliked cats.
According to the resident, the two dead kittens have since been buried, while the rescued kitten was awaiting adoption.

“Lao deng” is a slang term originating from north-eastern China and is commonly used to describe older men who are largely seen as being out of touch, while also behaving in a sleazy or inappropriate manner.
The parties eventually reached a settlement, with Liu agreeing to publish an apology.
