NGO: Myanmar scam centres thriving despite quake and crackdown

JOHOR BARU: Scam centres in Myanmar continue to operate freely despite the recent devastating earthquake, as well as efforts by Thailand authorities to cut electricity, Internet and fuel supplies to border towns, says the Malaysia International Humanitarian Organisation (MHO).

Its chief public relations officer Daniel Khoo (pic) said more than 100 Malaysians were being forced to work in the scam centres, which are now moving into the inner parts of Myanmar.
