PETALING JAYA: The Urban Renewal Bill (URA) was in the spotlight at the inaugural Civic Lens Series, a new initiative by the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (Insap) which debuted on Monday (March 24) at Wisma MCA.
According to MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, the event gathered experts and stakeholders to delve into the complexities of the URA and explore its impact on homeowners, communities, and the broader urban planning framework in Malaysia.
Dr Wee added that such dialogues were necessary to identify potential gaps in the Bill and ensure that urban renewal efforts were carried out in a fair and effective manner.
In a Facebook post Monday, Dr Wee said that MCA will "continue to play its role in voicing public concerns and proposing constructive solutions for the benefit of the nation".
Also in attendance were panellists Datuk Chang Kim Loong, who is National House Buyers Association honorary secretary, Association of Malaysian Land Professionals president Prof Dr Ismail Omar.
