Motorcycle accident claims life of 30-year-old in Johor


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 30-year-old local male motorcyclist was killed in a fatal road accident at KM29 along Jalan Johor Baru–Gelang Patah–Pendas here near Lima Kedai.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said that the incident occurred at around 8.10am on Monday (March 24) when the victim, riding a blue-coloured motorcycle, was travelling in the left lane toward Gelang Patah.

“A white car from the opposite direction lost control while going through a curve and crashed into the side of the motorcycle,” he said on Monday evening (March 24).

He added that the motorcyclist suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The driver of the car was unharmed. The victim’s body has been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” he said.

ACP Kumarasan added the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and those with information about the accident should contact Iskandar Puteri police traffic enforcement and investigations unit at 07-5101322.
