KOTA KINABALU: A man who spent over a year facing a possible death penalty for drug trafficking has been acquitted by the High Court, allowing him to ­reunite with his family just in time for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Mohd Fareez Izwan Mohd Idros, 29, was granted a full discharge and acquittal after the Attorney General’s Chambers accepted a representation from his defence counsel to drop the charge.
