Biofuel activities license fees unchanged, says plantations minister

PETALING JAYA: The licence fee structure for biofuel activities licensed under the Malaysian Biofuel Industry (Licensing) Regulations 2008 will be maintained, says Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad

She said the decision was reached after reviewing feedback and counter‑proposals from industry representatives, particularly from the Malaysian Biodiesel Association (MBA).

“The government takes note of and fully understands the concerns raised by the industry, especially regarding the challenges of current operating costs and the various existing licensing charges.

“The ministry greatly values the close cooperation and continuous feedback provided by industry players,” she said in a statement on Thursday (April 2).

She added that the decision to maintain the current fee structure reflects the government’s concern and firm commitment to ensuring the continuity of business operations, while safeguarding and strengthening the competitiveness of Malaysia’s biodiesel industry in the market.
