VETERAN singer Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim has urged young artistes to remain strong in the face of criticism, Berita Harian reported.

Expressing admiration for the new generation of singers, she lauded them for their vocal and song-writing abilities.

One of the young singers she named was Aina Abdul, who is often criticised for her outrageous image.

At the recent Anugerah Juara Lagu, Aina wore a puffy dress overflowing with flowers and leaves, and an all-gold gown, which led her to heavy criticism online.

Khadijah compared Aina to the likes of Madonna, encouraging her not to be afraid to stand out, saying that it was a good opportunity to “market” herself.

“Aina has to be strong. She has to understand that in this industry, she can’t run away from it.

“Her decision to appear different has worked. People have started asking who Aina is,” she added.

> Harian Metro reported that a monkey, which was adopted by a villager after losing its mother in a road accident five years ago, has become an online sensation.

The primate, named Aby, is modelling cat clothes and assisting her owner Mohd Muzamir Roslan with game reviews.

Mohd Muzamir said he found Aby by the roadside in 2020.

“Aby and her mother were hit by a car. Her mother died and Aby had broken bones and gashes.

“I took her home and treated her injuries,” he said, adding that it took him two years to tame Aby.

Today, Aby lives peacefully with dozens of his pet cats and spends time in the jungle, he said.

They said the potholes led to many accidents.

The latest incident involved a teenage girl, who fell off her motorcycle after hitting a pothole.

She suffered injuries to her mouth, hands and thigh.
