PM Anwar to launch annual Selangor PKR divisions meetings

KLANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will launch the annual meetings of Selangor PKR divisions at a hotel in Shah Alam on Friday (Feb 28) night.

The PKR president is expected to kick off the event at 9pm.

According to Selangor PKR deputy chairman Borhan Aman Shah, several other party leaders may also accompany Anwar.

He said this is also the first time the party president is launching the annual meetings for Selangor's 22 divisions.

"In the past, the mentri besar, who is state chairman, had launched it, and so this is the first time the president is doing it," said Borhan.

He said the divisions have been given up to early March to complete their annual meetings before the party's national convention scheduled to be held in April.

"So, once the party president launches the event tonight, most of the divisions will start having the meetings beginning tomorrow," said the Tanjong Sepat assemblyman.

Borhan, who is a Selangor executive councilor, said this was an important year for PKR as it was a party election year.
