‘Lelaki Gila’ stirs up memories of Diva AA’s past

AZWAN Ali, affectionately known as Diva AA, has never been one to hide his emotions, especially when it comes to his long-standing admiration for Ziana Zain.

In a candid nod to his past feelings, Azwan appears in Naim Daniel’s latest music video, Lelaki Gila, finding an unexpected connection between the song’s narrative and his own unrequited love story, Berita Harian Online reported.

Azwan reminisced about his infatuation with Ziana during the 1990s – a love that, despite its intensity, never blossomed into a relationship.

“I was truly infatuated with her, hoping for more, but destiny had other plans,” he said.

The song Lelaki Gila speaks to him deeply, capturing the essence of men like himself who remain romantically unattached.

Despite the teasing about his age, Azwan embraces his role in the music video, appreciating its themes of loyalty and nostalgia.

“The lyrics resonate with my feelings,” he said, adding a touch of personal reflection.

Azwan hopes Lelaki Gila will earn recognition at Anugerah Juara Lagu, highlighting its artistic quality.

He even envisions a dream collaboration with Ziana at the event.

A law graduate from Universiti Malaya, Azwan began his broadcasting journey with TV3 in 1988 and gained acclaim for directing telefilms in the 1990s.
