PPC readies extra ferry trips for Chap Goh Meh celebration

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Port Commission (PPC) will have extra ferry trips for the Chap Goh Meh celebration at Padang Kota from 5pm to 11pm on Friday (Feb 14).

PPC chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin said the initiative was taken after heeding a request from Penang Global Tourism (PGT).

"We will have four extra trips from the Raja Tun Uda Terminal in George Town to the Sultan Abdul Halim Terminal in Butterworth at 10.30pm and 11pm on Feb 14 and 12am and 1am on Saturday (Feb 15)," said Yeoh in a statement on Thursday (Feb 13).

He said PPC as the owner of Penang Port and Penang Port Sdn Bhd as the operator hopes this initiative will help to smoothen the movement of the visitors to the programme at Padang Kota.
