Cops investigate death of young woman in Kempas


JOHOR BARU: A 27-year-old woman has died after allegedly jumping from a flat in Kempas, here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the police received a report from the public at approximately 11.20am on Saturday (Feb 8).

“Police arrived at the scene to find the woman lying on a motorcycle parking area within the flat compound.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was receiving treatment at Hospital Permai prior to the incident.

“Authorities have not found any criminal elements linked to the case so far,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

He added that the victim's body had been sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

At this stage, the case has been classified as sudden death. Police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the Johor Baru North Police Headquarters at 07-5563122.
