PETALING JAYA: Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) has distributed food baskets to 350 B40 families in Kedah and Perlis.

The foundation said RM52,500 was allocated and every recipient will receive aid of RM150.

"The food baskets were distributed in a ceremony by foundation trustee Datin Faizah Ariffin at the at a Madani Aid event in Hotel Sri Malaysia in Kangar, Perlis," said the foundation in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 5).

Faizah in a speech said the aid was focused on the needy among the B40 group, poor and single mothers.

"The foundation is aware of the hardship of the poor and hopes the assistance would lighten their burden," said Faizah.

She said the foundation has always been at the forefront of helping the less fortunate and will continue to expand the aid to more of the needful.

The foundation has allocated almost RM600,000 in 2024 to be given to people in the B40 group.
