Man arrested for raping 8-year-old daughter


PETALING JAYA: Police arrested a man on Saturday after he was suspected of raping his eight-year-old daughter.

Kuala Selangor district police chief, Superintendent Azaharudin Tajuddin said he received a report of the incident from the victim's mother at about 8.29pm.

According to him, a preliminary investigation found that the 33-year-old suspect had been divorced from the child's mother since February 13, 2022.

"The victim lives with her father and is allowed to be with her mother on weekends and school holidays," Supt Azaharuddin said in a statement on Sunday (Feb 2).

In the meantime, he said, the police also received a report of another rape case allegedly involving two men, the grandfather and uncle of a 14-year-old girl on Saturday (Feb 1).

He said the police received information about the alleged crime at 7.38pm from a relative of the victim.

"Preliminary investigations found that two male suspects aged 66 and 21 years old are the victim's grandfather and uncle.

"A police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuala Selangor Police Headquarters have arrested the men," he said.

He said that all there involved in the two rape cases were being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.

"The three suspects were remanded for seven days from Sunday until Feb 7 to assist investigations," he said.
