Chinese actress Tong Liya spotted holidaying in Malaysia with son

KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese actress Tong Liya has been seen enjoying a holiday in Malaysia with her son.

Netizens have shared photos of the star at a Malaysian airport on social media.

Despite wearing a mask and maintaining a low profile, Tong's exceptional charm was unmistakable, quickly leading to her recognition by fans.

Fans also noted that her nine-year-old son, Duo Duo, has grown tall, now reaching his mother's shoulder.

They remarked that the boy is adorable and resembles his father, actor and film director Chen Sicheng.

On Wednesday (Jan 22), Tong shared pictures of her vacation on her official Weibo page, taken at Batu Caves, Selangor.

The Xinjiang-born actress also wished her followers a Happy Xiao Nian (Little New Year), a custom honouring the Kitchen God, celebrated on the 23rd day of the last month of the Lunar Calendar in northern China.

Tong reportedly came to Malaysia with her son and a close friend to provide her son with a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Known as one of the Four Beauties of Xinjiang in the entertainment industry, alongside Gulnezer Bextiyar, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Hankiz Omar, Tong gained recognition for her role in The Queens in 2008.

She has also starred in popular films and TV series such as So Young, Palace, Nirvana in Fire 2, Detective Chinatown, and The Wandering Earth II.

Tong met Chen on the set of Beijing Love Story in 2012. They married two years later but divorced in 2021.
