THE Selangor state government, in collaboration with Invest Selangor Berhad, will host the 2025 Selangor state-level Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, Feb 8, 2025.

The festivities will take place from 5:30pm to 11pm at the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple grounds in Jenjarom, Selangor.

This year’s celebration coincides with the Lantern and Flower Festival, which runs from Jan 25 to Feb 12, 2025, covering a sprawling 15-hectare area.

This year’s festivities feature iconic attractions like the 22-meter giant lantern inspired by the Legend of the White Snake and the 28-ft Year of the Snake themed-lantern.

The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin are scheduled to grace the event, which is estimated to attract some 30,000 attendees.

The programme includes pre-show performances from 5:45pm to 6:45pm and main performances from 8:30pm to 9:35pm featuring choir performances as well as cultural, contemporary and indigenous dances among the many.

Guests can explore Lumbini Garden, featuring serene koi ponds and vibrant orchids, adorned with red lanterns, LED lights, and colorful 3D structures.

A special vegetarian banquet for 5,000 guests will be served in two sessions at 5:30pm and 8:30pm, in line with the event’s theme and location.

Complimentary parking for 3,000 vehicles will be available on the temple grounds, with additional parking nearby.
