Findings on Lahad Datu pathologist's death to be released next month, says Dzulkefly


PUTRAJAYA: The findings on the death of a pathology specialist in Lahad Datu, Sabah will be released next month, says Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

The Health Minister said the independent task force, led by Tan Sri Borhan Dollah, had submitted the final report to him.

He added that it will be made public only after being presented to the Cabinet.

"The family of the deceased has requested an explanation and clarification," he stated.

"I will ensure their request is fulfilled before we release the findings to the public. That is my promise - we will be transparent," Dzulkefly said.

He made these remarks on Thursday (Jan 16) after distributing spectacles under the refractive screening and vision correction sponsorship programme for B40 and M40 Year 1 primary pupils.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek was also present.

On Aug 29 last year, news of the pathology specialist's death, allegedly due to suicide caused by bullying by her department head, went viral on social media.

The victim’s younger sibling claimed that her sister was subjected to mistreatment by her department head at the Lahad Datu Hospital and faced immense pressure from the workload in the unit. – Bernama
