A POLICE constable who was riding a motorcycle died after his neck was entangled by a plastic kite string that slit his throat, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Shahrukh Hasan, 30, was on his way to work in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh when the freak accident happened.

A kite with the highly abrasive string being flown by a child nearby had drifted into his path.

Unfortunately, the cop could not stop in time.

The synthetic plastic string, which has been banned for usage in kite-flying, cut his neck badly.

Shahrukh was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses said the incident happened within seconds and bystanders were left horrified by the “blood everywhere”.

Less than 30 minutes later, another man nearly met the same fate, but was saved by his helmet.

Police said they had been confiscating the synthetic strings which were banned in 2017 but they were still being imported and used illegally.
