Education Ministry to distribute RM150 school aid starting Jan 13


KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has announced that the early school aid of RM150 will be distributed starting Monday (Jan 13) for students from Year 1 to Form 4.

According to a statement released on Friday (Jan 10), students of the 2024/2025 school session in these grades will begin receiving the aid from Monday.

The ministry also stated that the aid for Year 1 pupils (from the 2025/2026 session) and Form 6 students in their second semester will be disbursed on Feb 16. For new Form 6 students, the aid distribution will start on July 1.

A total of RM791,250,000 has been allocated by the Madani government for this one-off payment of RM150 per student, benefiting over 5.2 million students.

The initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians in purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school session.

This year, the initiative is being extended to Form 6 students for the first time.

The aid will be provided either through cash handouts to the parents of primary and secondary school students or directly into the bank accounts of the students or their parents.
