Man dies loses control of his motorcycle on highway near Kulai


KULAI: A 28-year-old man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and veering into a drain at KM49.5 of the southbound North-South Expressway.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said police received the report regarding the accident at 8.40pm on Dec 31.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident is believed to have happened when the 28-year-old man lost control of the motorcycle and veered into a roadside drain.

"The rider suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 1).

ACP Tan added that the body of the deceased has been transported to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital in Kulai for a post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Members of the public with information regarding the incident are urged to contact the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Kulai District Police Headquarters.
