Quick-acting M'sians of all ethnicities rescue family from Petaling Jaya accident

PETALING JAYA: A heartwarming display of unity was witnessed near the Damansara Toll Plaza in Petaling Jaya when bystanders from diverse backgrounds came together to rescue a family trapped in an overturned vehicle, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

A TikTok video uploaded by user @ddarnahadrieanna, or Darnah, showcased how people from different backgrounds worked together to free the victims trapped inside the vehicle, Sinar Harian reported.

"Those who helped included Malays, Chinese, Indians, and Sabahans," she said.

Darnah confirmed that the rescue was successful and that all the victims were safe.

Explaining the situation, Darnah said her husband was the first to notice the accident, where the vehicle skidded and fell into a large drain shortly after passing the toll plaza.

Without wasting any time, he rushed to help the victims, followed by other bystanders who joined in.

“Thankfully, my husband saw it. Otherwise, no one would have noticed because the car silently slipped into the drain,” she said.

According to the video, the victims were a Chinese family consisting of a man, a woman, and a child.
