TikTok user apologises to King and PM on his video

PETALING JAYA: A TikTok user who criticised His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for patronising a famous asam pedas eatery in Johor Bahru has apologised.

The TikToker said he had made a mistake about the halal status of the restaurant and said he was sorry for the statement he made about the King and the Prime Minister.

"I realised later that the restaurant had the halal certificate and should have done more research on the issue. I will be careful in the future from defaming anyone," he said in a video on Monday (Dec 16).

"I received harsh comments and will take a break from social media after this.

In a recent video, which has since been removed, the user said he does not wish to insult anyone but would like to remind Muslims not to eat in a restaurant which is not halal.

"If an eatery does not have a halal certificate, whoever you are, do not eat there," he said.
