Kiandee: SAPP’s departure has little impact

A free world: Bersatu says that SAPP has no basis or right to prevent Perikatan from contesting in the next Sabah election.

KOTA KINABALU: A senior Bersatu leader in Sabah has played down the departure of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) from Perikatan Nasional, saying the party’s role within Perikatan was minimal.

“SAPP’s leaving would have little or no impact on Sabah Perikatan. It is not an active component member as it is also a member of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), which is part of the unity government,” said Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee, the state Bersatu vice-president and Sabah Bersatu chairman.
