Parang-wielding 'wanderer' in Kluang nabbed again, this time over death threat to neighbour

KLUANG: A man arrested after wandering around his neighbourhood with a parang less than two weeks ago has been detained again.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the 49-year-old suspect was arrested at his house in Taman Megah here on Thursday (Dec 12) after his neighbour lodged a police report.

“According to the complainant, the suspect scolded him because the television antenna of his house encroached upon the suspect’s property.

“The suspect then told the complainant to remove the antenna and allegedly threatened to kill him,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 13).

He said the suspect, who has 17 criminal and narcotics offences on his record, also tested positive for drugs.

ACP Bahrin added that the case is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

It was reported earlier that the jobless man was arrested on Nov 29 after a video of him wandering the housing area with a parang went viral on social media.

The man also tested positive during that incident and was remanded for three days.
