Missing Chinese tourist found safe along MRR2


KUALA LUMPUR: The elderly Chinese tourist reported missing since Sunday (Dec 8) has been found safe along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) here.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said Xu Baolin, 84, was found by a member of the public late Wednesday (Dec 11) evening.

"He has some minor scratches on his face and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"We will wait for (his condition to stabilise) before recording his statement.

"We will also record the statement of the doctor treating him.

"The cause of his disappearance is still under investigation," he said when contacted on Thursday (Dec 12).

It was reported that a tourist from China went missing after going to Suria KLCC on Sunday.

ACP Sulizmie had said the victim's family lodged a report on Monday (Dec 9) morning.

"He went to the mall with his family on Sunday and was last seen at its food court," he said.

Xu and his family were staying at a residency in Jalan Kia Peng.

"He is not suffering from Alzheimer's but has difficulty hearing.

"He was supposed to return to China with his family next Tuesday (Dec 17)," he said.

ACP Sulizmie urged those with information to contact the Dang Wangi police station at 03-26002264, its operations room at 03-2600 2222, or the nearest police station.
