YANGON: Myanmar has extended visa on arrival for tourists from China and India arriving by air for a third one-year trial period, according to the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism on Tuesday (Sept 15).
The extension is valid for one year, from Aug 30, 2026, to Aug.29, 2027, the ministry said.
The country welcomed 701,141 foreign visitors during the first eight months of 2026, it said, adding that the largest numbers of visitors came from Thailand and China during this period.
The number of foreign visitors was higher than the 653,952 recorded during the same period last year, it said. - Xinhua
