Five Immigration officers among 10 injured in five-vehicle pile-up in Johor


JOHOR BARU: Five Immigration Department personnel are among the 10 victims injured in an accident involving five vehicles near Permas Jaya here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed that the incident occurred at 1.15pm on Tuesday (Dec 10).

"The incident involved a tipper lorry, two cars, a four-wheel drive vehicle and an Immigration Department multi-purpose vehicle (MPV)," he said here on Tuesday (Dec 10).

ACP Raub added initial investigations found that the lorry driver lost control of his vehicle and hit other vehicles at the location.

"Ten victims, including the five Immigration personnel, sustained light injuries. All were sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA).

"From the five Immigration personnel, two were warded while the other three received outpatient treatment," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
