Wanita BN urged to champion digital education access

KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Barisan Nasional must take the lead in championing women’s rights, particularly in education, while acting as a shield to protect them, says its chief, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

She said emphasis should be placed on digital education so that women can be empowered as technology entrepreneurs and innovators.

“Every girl in this country must have equal opportunities to learn, explore technology and build a future career, including those in rural areas.

“We must also uphold women’s rights and safety. Cases of domestic violence, workplace discrimination and sexual harassment still haunt many women. We must serve as a shield to protect them,” she said in her speech at the Wanita Barisan Nasional 50th Anniversary Celebration here on Saturday (Dec 7).

Noraini said that after five decades, Wanita Barisan continued to serve as a backbone to ensure the coalition remains the people’s hope.

She acknowledged that Barisan had experienced both periods of glory and challenges but remains the people’s final hope for stability and prosperity.

Noraini urged party members attending the gathering to embrace the mission of “Bangkit Semula Teguh Bersama” and strengthen their unity.

“Remember, our success is not measured by individual achievements but by collective accomplishments.

“Let us continue to foster a spirit of unity within ourselves. Unity is not just a beautiful slogan—it is the principle that anchors our strength,” she added. – Bernama
