A DENTIST has been recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) for providing dental treatment to 113 people non-stop over 17 hours, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Dr Vinothini Loganathan from Johor Baru received her certificate of achievement from MBR operations manager Edwin Yeoh.

She said she provided the service because teeth are important in making everyone look their best.

She added that she became a dentist thanks to her late father, writer R. Loganathan.

While she was happy to fulfil her father’s wish for her to become a dentist, Dr Vinothini said it was a big disappointment that he was not here to see her set the record.

Her husband and family were supportive of her record attempt, she added.

While her husband is a dentist at a hospital in Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Dr Vinothini completed her training in Klinik Kesihatan Kempas and opened her own clinic in Johor Baru.

She said she wanted to continue working and serving in Malaysia.
