Manhunt on for seven over brutal murder at Kuching condo

KUCHING: Seven other individuals are still being sought by police here over the murder of a man, who was hacked to death in his apartment and had his car smashed in the parking lot.

So far, three people have been arrested over the case.

According to China Press, Padawan OCPD Supt Mohamad Iwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the police had arrested three suspects, aged between 21 and 25, around noon on Monday (Dec 2) in the Kota Sentosa police jurisdiction.

He added that the three suspects would be brought to court on Tuesday (Dec 3) to request a remand for further investigation.

The police, he said, are still tracking down seven individuals involved to assist with the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The incident had happened at around 5am on Monday (Dec 2) near an apartment unit in Kota Sentosa, Kuching, Sarawak, close to a military camp's residential quarters.

The 22-year-old-man was brutally hacked to death inside the apartment unit.

His bloodied body was found in a kneeling, collapsed position, reported China Press.

It was earlier reported that at least 12 men, armed with samurai swords and large machetes stormed the apartment to commit the murder.

They also smashed the victim's SUV in the parking lot.

The victim was said to have lived a flashy lifestyle, posting photos of driving a Ferrari and wearing expensive clothes and watches over social media.
