Expect thunderstorms in seven states, two federal territories this evening, says MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast in several locations across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 5.55pm on Friday (Nov 22), thunderstorms are expected over Perak (Muallim), Pahang (Lipis, Raub, Bentong and Temerloh, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru)

Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh) and Limbang in Sawarak are also expected to experience thunderstorms.

The advisory is valid until 9pm on Friday.

The Northeast Monsoon phase is expected to continue until March 2025, bringing about five to seven episodes of heavy rainfall throughout this period.
