MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in southern peninsula, Borneo States until 7pm (May 16)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 7pm on Saturday (May 16).

In a statement at 3.10pm on Saturday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Pahang (Bera, Pekan and Rompin); Negri Sembilan; Melaka and Johor.

It also warned of bad weather in Sarawak affecting areas in Kuching; Serian; Samarahan; Sarikei (Julau); Sibu (Kanowit); Mukah (Daro, Matu, Dalat and Mukah); Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong); Bintulu (Tatau) and Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi).

In Sabah, the areas affected are the interior (Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan); the west coast; Tawau; Sandakan (Tongod, Kinabatangan and Sandakan) and Kudat.
