Anwar, Macron hold bilateral meeting, discuss AI collaboration on sidelines of G20 Summit

RIO DE JANEIRO: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has held a meeting with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

In their meeting, they affirmed their commitment to further strengthen the relations and cooperation between Malaysia and France.

This includes enhancing cooperation in various sectors such as trade, investment, tourism and defence, as well as collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Anwar also convened a bilateral meeting with the French President at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) on Monday (Nov 19).

The two leaders discussed Malaysia's role as the Asean chair for 2025. The Malaysian Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Macron for his support through the Asean-France Development Cooperation.

They also discussed the ongoing genocide in Palestine, emphasising the need for an immediate ceasefire and cooperation from all parties to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Also present at the meeting was the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz. – Bernama
